Mourning Mountains looks at the concept of grief from both a personal and environmental perspective. When something so profound as death or ‘goneness’ suddenly interrupts our lives, it can be both consuming and abstract at the same time. Emotions are difficult to comprehend in these circumstances - pain, guilt, anger, hopelessness fuse as one untamed experience, creating a vacuum for confusion to fill. However, by staying present and really taking time to process these difficult emotions, a way forward will emerge.

The series was taken over the past 5 years across locations in Austria, Switzerland, The UK and Ireland, then digitally manipulated before becoming printed, tangible pieces.
